QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

What is Bouchercon and why do we want to register?

Since 1970, Bouchercon has been a convention dedicated to the field of mysteries, suspense, thriller, and crime writing. It’s an event put on by fans, for fans. If you like to read mysteries, thrillers, suspense, crime, cozies or any type of book in this genre, this event should interest you.

This year our Guests of Honor are:  Harlan Coben, Brad Thor, Heather Graham, Anthony Horowitz, Rachel Howzell Hall,

J. T. Ellison, V. M. Burns, Mick Herron, Kelli Stanley and Clay Stafford. There will be other authors you already love to read and new ones you will meet at the convention. There will be free books, lots of free bookmarks and promo items about the author’s books. Belong to a bookclub? Take them home bookmarks from authors who you think they might enjoy.

There is also an opportunity to buy a lot of great books from our on site Book Store. We have a live and silent auction where you have the ability to bid on special auction items from authors who have donated items to our auction. This year the money raised will be going to Dolly Parton's Imagination Library.

Lots of fun entertainment in the evenings after the panels and the oppotunity to meet new people and the authors attending.

Bouchercon is the World Premiere Mystery Convention where everyone is invited to register and attend.

I registered, now what?

After you register you should receive a link to reserve a room at the hotel.  This year our host hotel is the Gaylord Marriott Resort and Convention Center.  Reserve your room as soon as you can.  Expect to pay a one night deposit for the hotel to reserve your room.  It is refundable if you cancel 72 hours in advance.

Check back to this website at least once a week to see if there are updates.  We update new registered attendees, which include new authors almost daily.  The schedule will be uploaded soon and will be updated regularly.

Newletters will be sent out monthly to keep you updated with new happenings, events, or any changes to the schedule.

How can I be involved?

Bouchercon is put on by fans, for fans. We need help at all stages of the event, including on the actual days. We have committees for moving in, setting up, the book bazaar, the book room, the live and silent auction, the hospitality suite, etc.

You can volunteer one day or every day.  It's up to you. Find out more at the volunteer link on the menu above.

If this is my first convention, how can I find out what's happening on day one?

Starting on Wednesday at 1:00 pm there will be a panel called Bouchercon 101.  Attend this panel and there will be panelists to answer all your questions and walk you through events and happenings day by day.
